Responsibility for Creation and Energy Challenges of Modernity in Eastern Europe |
INVITATION
The Catechetic spiritual centre of the Uzhhorod Convent of Sisters of Congregation of Jesus is serving as the venue for the international research and practice conference on “Responsibility for Creation and Energy Challenges of Modernity in Eastern Europe”, which will be held on 6-8 May 2011. Leading researchers in the field of energy efficiency and sustainable development, representatives of nature preservation bodies, local and central authorities, NGO activists from Eastern European countries are invited to this event. It is also important to mention that bishops’ assistants on responsibility for Creation and nature questions of Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Greek Catholic and Reformed Church dioceses and theological academies of Ukraine, representatives of other Christian Churches, Judaism, Islam are delegated to this conference.

GENERAL OVERVIEW
Important questions concerning the global challenges of the modernity will be considered during the conference. New ways, possibilities and directions for dialogue between the Church and social movements will be suggested, concerning responsibility for Creation in Eastern Europe at tight collaboration with authorities, local governments, research institutions, educational establishments and the public.
The programme of the conference also foresees familiarization with the cities of Uzhhorod and Mukachevo, excursions to museums and castles.
The materials of the conference will be published as a separate edition.
The languages of the conference are Ukrainian, Russian German and English.
The number of participants is limited.TERMS OF PARTICIPATION
The following documents should be mailed to the organizing committee till 11 March 2011 in order to participate in the conference:
Application of the seminar participant, brief outline of the report on 3.5’’ floppy disc in MS Word (version 6.0 or higher) file, two hard copies of the outline, signed by the author in A4 paper format.
TYPESCRIPT REQUIREMENTS
FOR THE CONFERENCE
Materials that will meet the following criteria will be accepted: wordage – less than 10 pages, written in Ukrainian, Russian, German or English typed in Word.rtf text processor (orientation – Portrait; font - Times New Roman; font size – 12; interval – 1,5; top and left margin – 30, bottom – 20, right – 10 mm).
The materials are to be submitted via e-mail as attached file in *.rtf format or in text format in the body of the email.
The materials have to contain the UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) code, full title, the surname(s) and initials of the author(s), name of the establishment represented and its mailing address for each author, abstract (up to 80 words in English and Ukrainian/Russian, keywords (5-7) for each abstract. It is preferable not to use dashed images and coloured graphs.
The authors take full responsibly on the content and reliability of the presented material.
The organizing committee reserves the right to refuse materials that do not meet these criteria, their subjects are not related to the topic of the conference, or they are submitted after 10 March 2011.
